Less than a year ago I bought a VHF from Burnsco in Opua. I use it on my kayak to keep me safe. Right now it can’t keep me safe because it is not working.

It is fully charged and the screen appears normal.

It’s set to channel 4 for the Bay of Islands coastguard. But when I push the PTT button I get blasted with a triple beep and nothing transmits.
Why is this? I have combed the manual l but can’t find anything to help.
