The dual tuner receives directly from satellite or terrestrial receivers allowing you to get rid of your satellite decoder. It has a DVD player to play movies if out of reception. You can also play movies through the USB ports via a hard drive. It also has the two HDMI ports, so you can plug in the Dish TV SmartVu dongle into one of these ports to make it into a smart TV.
